The village of Neungmal is located on the route to Donggureung, a site where kings of the Joseon Dynasty paid regular visits. Today, five hundred descendents of the Lim family ori ginating from Gyeongju (hence, the name Gyeongju Lim Village) live here in 150 househol ds and fifty neighborhoods. The Lim family line has lived here for four hundred years, since they fled Gyeongju following the Korea-Japan War in 1592. and moved to the present Sinn ae-dong site. The village hold considerable historic and cultural value with its well-preserv ed traditional houses. |
