Every March 3rd,by the lunar calendar, the residents of Sinnae-dong, Sangbong-dong and Junghwa-dong gather at Dodang, a spot at the su mmit of Bonghwasan to pray for the well-being and peace of their vill ages, a tradition that has been carried on for 400 years. The festival p romotes unity and a sense of community among villagers, and helps to pass the valuable cultural heritage on to posterity. |
